Sri Lanka Cricket will serve as the event's host in 2022. Earlier, Sri Lanka was supposed to host the competition. However, the Asian Cricket Council opted to switch the location of the major competition due to ongoing political and economic upheaval in the country.

Later, it was determined that the tournament's new location would be in the UAE. As a result, Sri Lanka Cricket will host the competition at the new site in the UAE. Three sites will host all of the matches because the UAE is the tournament's location. Abu Dhabi Cricket Stadium, Sharjah Cricket Stadium, and Dubai International Cricket Stadium are the three.

For a spot in the main tournament, UAE, Kuwait, Hong Kong, and Singapore will compete in the qualifications. On August 20, the qualifiers are scheduled to start. Following their advancement through the regional qualifiers, all four teams have reached the final qualifying round.

Asia Cup 2022 Groups

The teams for the 2022 Asia Cup have not yet been placed in groups. Six teams were present in the previous season as well, and they were split into two groups of three teams each. India, Pakistan, and Hong Kong made up Group A, while Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka made up Group B.

Each team played the other in the same group once as far as the format is concerned. The top two teams from each group then advanced to the Super Four, the second stage. Before the top two teams qualified for the final, the four teams in that stage played each other once. One may anticipate a similar setup in the following season, which will also have six teams.
